Details

The Pintuck Foot is used for embellishing garments, table linens and bed linens, typically in conjunction with a twin needle (not included). Working with a twin needle, the foot creates evenly-spaced raised tucks in the fabric. It has a series of evenly-spaced grooves on the underside which allows for perfectly parallel rows of raised tucks that will not be flattened when sewn.

Increase the upper thread tension or add a cord for more pronounced tucks. Sew intersecting rows of tucks for interesting texture on the fabric! Works best with lightweight fabrics such as batiste, silk, and organdy.

Specifications

How to Use:

  1. Snap on the Pintuck Foot.
  2. Insert a narrow twin needle.
  3. Thread the machine with two spools of thread.
  4. Increase the top thread tension.
  5. Set the machine for a straight stitch.
  6. Using a marking tool, mark the first row of stitching (can be straight or wavy).
  7. Position the fabric under the foot aligning the marking with the center of the foot and stitch the first tuck.
  8. To stitch the second tuck, position the first tuck into one of the other grooves. Which groove used will determine the spacing of the tucks.
